Doing a blog for KL travelers is impossible without giving food a prominent place. Malaysia is such a diverse place and of course this diversity finds its reflection in everything food.
Previously, we introduced Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak as popular breakfast options. Don’t worry – even if you prefer continental breakfast, local cuisine offers a few delights. One of them is Kaya.
Kaya, meaning “rich” in Malay, is a delicious coconut jam made from coconut milk, eggs, pandan leaf and sugar. The spread originated in Southeast Asia, most likely Indonesia or Malaysia. As a popular local jam, Kaya is typically spread on toast and butter and eaten in the morning and throughout the day. The best Kaya is of course freshly made and without any preservatives. But it lasts only for a few days.
At The Nest, we offer Kaya and other jams for breakfast. When you stay with us, you must give it a try! We are sure you will love it as much as we do 🙂
